Burn ban in effect until Nov. 1

NATCHEZ — The Adams County Board of Supervisors has extended the current burn ban until Nov. 1.
Mississippi law states that any person who knowingly and willfully violates a burning ban is guilty of a misdemeanor and may be fined not less than $100 and not more than $500. 
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the average fine for a burn ban violation in Adams County is $350.
