Morris V. Harper

FERRIDAY — Memorial services for Morris V. Harper, 76, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his loving family, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Harper was born March 17, 1939, in Jonesville, the son of Robert Valley and Alice Jones Harper.

He was well known for being a hard worker, always staying busy even after retirement. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Peggy Harper Welch; and one brother, Robert Valley Harper Jr.

Survivors include one son, Byron Harper of Vidalia; two brothers, Danny Harper and wife, JoAnn, of Vidalia and R.L. Harper and wife, Martha, of Bay St. Louis; one sister, Doris Willis and husband, Robert, of Alexandria, La.; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
