FERRIDAY — Memorial services for Donald Ray Hampton, 86, of St. Joseph, who died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez, will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Hampton was born July 5, 1929, in Decatur, Texas, the son of Robert Wade Hampton and Grace Hall Hampton. He was Catholic.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Hampton was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hampton; one son, Robert Don Hampton and wife, Candice, of London, Ark.; four daughters, Katy Hampton of Vidalia, Shannon Graham of Wisner, La., Michele Martin and husband, Don, of Bossier City, La., and Renee Hutto of Monroe, La.; one brother, Robert Wade “Rusty” Hampton Jr. of Denton, Texas; one sister, Kay Jones and husband, John Paul, of Fort Worth, Texas; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his dog, Abagail — his loving companion.
