NATCHEZ — Services for Virgan Mary Washington, 84, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Joe Pickett officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Washington was born in Natchez, the daughter of Thomas and Annie B. Hollins.

She was a member of the Eastern Star Emma Morris No. 12.

Ms. Washington was preceded in death by five sisters, Viola H. Schneider, JoMarie Humes, JoAnn Wilson, Ruth Hollins and Lucille Posey; one grandson, Darnell Washington; and one daughter-in-law, Rachel Washington.

Survivors include six children, Thomas Washington and wife, Bettye, Major Washington and wife, Brenda, Charles Washington and wife, Yvonne, Michael Washington, Stephen Washington and Ruth Washington; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Mansfield, Paul Hollins, Lee Wong Hughes, Elbert Hughes, Cyrus Mitchell and James Perkins.
