NATCHEZ — Services for Bowser Ware Sr., 78, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Daughter of Zion Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
An Eastern Star ceremony will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home followed by a Masonic ceremony.
Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Bowser was born March 22, 1937, the son of the late Ed Ware Sr. and Lillie Pearl Ware.
He was retired from International Paper Company in Natchez.
Mr. Bowser was a member of the Daughter of Zion Baptist Church where he served on the deacon board, a member of MWWTM Grant Jr. Grand Lodge, Nobles of Alkoran Temple No. 35, Clover Hill Lodge No. 13, Hiram Grand Consistory, Bernard Adams Past Masters Council, Edna Anderson Chapter No. 11 Order of Eastern Star, Deacons Progressive Club, Adah Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Victory Chapter No. 3, Good Samaritans, Linwood Society, Past Grand Masters Executive Board, L.E. Spencer Administrative Council and the Pearl Leaf Society.
He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, watching western films and family gatherings.
Mr. Ware was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Isabelle Hoskins Ware; one sister, Tina Fitzgerald; and one brother, Mose Ware.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Ware and wife, Quartreate, of Natchez, Frank Ware and wife, Catherine, of Chicago and Bowser Ware Jr.; one daughter, Pearlie Goodman and husband, Malcolm, of Vicksburg; three sisters, Isabella Gibson, Clara Franklin and Alberta Selmon, all of Natchez; two brothers, Ed Ware and wife, Daisy, and the Rev. Monroe Ware and wife, Sarah, all of Natchez; two brothers-in-law, Charles Hoskins and wife, Rose, of Natchez and John Hoskins of Moss Point; one sister-in-law, Chris McClure of Saginaw, Mich.; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
