FERRIDAY — Services for Genevie Wheeler, 84, of Los Angeles, formerly of Ferriday, who died Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Baptist Church on Lake St. John in Ferriday.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wheeler was born Sept. 30, 1931, in Ferriday, the daughter of Lee Henry and Eloise Bruin Moungle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Wheeler Sr.

Survivors include three sons, Ralph Moungle and wife, Katheryne, of McKinney, Texas, Ronnie Morgan and Willie Wheeler Jr., both of New Orleans; one daughter, Bonnie Brown of Los Angeles; two brothers, Oliver Henderson and wife, Mattie, and Wilmo Gant, all of Chicago; one sister, Azalena Williams of LeMoore, Calif.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
