NATCHEZ — A two car wreck that occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. Tuesday evening sent one man to the hospital and damaged the northbound St. Catherine Creek bridge on U.S. 61 in Natchez. According to witnesses, the driver of a gray truck headed north on U.S. 61 swerved into the concrete and metal railing of the St. Catherine Creek bridge. The vehicle then flipped once on the bridge hitting a white truck. The driver of the gray truck that overturned escaped with few apparent injuries. The driver of the white truck was transported to the hospital with injuries that appeared not to be life-threatening. The wreck caused significant damage to the bridge’s guardrails and closed traffic on the bridge for a couple of hours. Westbound traffic was diverted to the adjacent St. Catherine Creek bridge. The wreck is under investigation.
