Ferriday man arrested for allegedly stabbing girlfriend

FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man was arrested Thursday and charged with the attempted murder of his girlfriend earlier this week.

Willie Davis Jr., 47, was detained in St. Joseph, on a warrant for the alleged stabbing of his girlfriend at their residence Tuesday evening at 100 Kyle Road in Ferriday.

Ferriday Police Chief Margaret Lawrence said officers detained Davis in St. Joseph and brought him to the Concordia Parish Jail where he was being held Friday without bond.

Lawrence said the victim was recovering and was expected to be released from the hospital this weekend.
