NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Mary Stella Hammack, 98, of Slaughter, La., formerly of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, in Slaughter, were 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hammack was born Aug. 31, 1917, the daughter of Joseph Franklin Givens and Alice Rachel Delaughter Givens.
She worked for Ingles Shipyard during World War ll as a welder. Mrs. Hammack also worked as a bookkeeper for a number of businesses in Natchez. She was a past president of the Natchez Garden Club, past president and treasurer of Auburn and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Natchez. She will be missed by many.
Mrs. Hammack was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Henry Asbin Cliburn, William Benjamin Robinson and Robert L. Hammack; five sisters, Effie Blount, Pearlie Boudreaux, Minnie Rutland, Louberta Rutland and Deloris Turnbow; one son, William Spencer Robinson; two grandsons, William Spence Robinson and Carroll Ray Holloway.
Survivors include, one daughter, Shirley Niehaus and husband, Michael; one daughter-in-law, Keita Nelson Robinson; five grandchildren, James L. Whittington II, Stella Busby, Charles L. Wedgeworth, Bryan D. Robinson and Shirl Jean Logue; 14 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were James L. Whittington ll, Charles L. Wedgeworth, Bryan D. Robinson, Jacob D. Busby, Hunter Robinson and Luke Wilson.
