NATCHEZ — Services for James Rudolph Smith, 84, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Riverland Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Burial will follow at Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James was born Dec. 17, 1931, the son of John Horace Smith and Lodelia McMorris Smith.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Smith and John Smith; sister, Anita Jeanette Myers; and grandson, Kyle Myers.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Smith of Ferriday; his sons, Bernard Smith and Karl Smith, of Ferriday; daughter, Rita “Tootie” Hudnal of Ferriday; brothers, Cleve Smith of Monroe, La., Alfred Smith of Winnsboro and Delsie Ray Smith of Ferriday; sisters, Irene Robinson of Winnsboro, Leory Boyett of Baton Rouge and Bobbie Wilson of Baton Rouge and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
