James Rudolph Smith

NATCHEZ — Services for James Rudolph Smith, 84, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at Riverland Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Larry Wayoner officiating.
Burial will follow at Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro, La. under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
James was born Dec. 17, 1931 in Gilbert, La., the son of John Horace Smith and Lodelia McMorris Smith.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from International Paper after 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Smith, John Smith, Cleve Smith, and Alfred Smith; sisters, Leory Boyett and Irene Robinson; daughter, Anita Jeanette Myers; and grandsons, Kyle Myers and Eric Scott Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Smith of Ferriday; sons, Ben Smith and his wife Tanya of Pasadena, Tex., and Karl Smith of Ferriday; daughter, Theresa “Tootie” Bunning of Ferriday; brother, Delsie Ray Smith of Ferriday; sister, Bobbie Wilson of Baton Rouge; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
