RIDGECREST — An elderly woman reportedly was attacked Monday night in her house in the Levee Heights area.

The woman, who is in her 80s, was severely beaten at her Campbell Drive house at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Vernon Stevens confirmed the attack, but would not provide details on the case.

“The investigators are working on it, but they are being (tight-lipped) about it, because they don’t want anything to interfere with the investigation,” he said.
