NATCHEZ — Natchez residents will have the opportunity Monday morning to hear from and speak to their state legislative representatives.
The legislative breakfast is an annual event hosted by the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce.
The breakfast is scheduled from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Monday in the ballroom at the Natchez Grand Hotel. The speakers are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
Chamber President Debbie Hudson said the event is designed to give Natchez residents the opportunity to hear from their legislators.
“It’s a great way to get to know the legislators who represent us,” Hudson said, “And be able to give our voice if we need to.”
Hudson said the event is being held later this year than in previous years because of the election challenge that delayed the confirmation of Sen. Bob Dearing of District 37.
Each legislator in attendance at the meeting will have the opportunity to speak for 5 to 10 minutes.
Hudson said attendees then have the opportunity to answer the audience’s written questions.
Legislators who are expected to attend the breakfast are Dearing, District 38 Sen. Tammy Witherspoon, District 94 Rep. Robert Johnson III, District 96 Rep. Angela Cockerham and District 97 Rep. Sam Mims V.
