FERRIDAY — Services for Evelina Lyles Cage, 76, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Baptist Church in Levee Heights in Ferriday with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today with an Eastern Star ceremony at 6 p.m.
Mrs. Cage was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Shaw, La., the daughter of Jack and Evelina Williams Lyles.
She was employed by Concordia Parish school system as a food service technician.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Abner “Pap” Cage; and a number of siblings.
Survivors include one son, Larry Cage and wife, Janet, of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Pamela C. Barnes and husband, George Barnes Jr., of Vidalia and Angela Thompson of Hephzibah, Ga.; one brother, Charles Lyles Sr. of Ridgecrest; four sisters, Carrie Lyles, Surnetta Cage and Margaret Jones, all of Vidalia, and Odessa Stevens of Ferriday; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
