NATCHEZ — Services for Thelma Wilson Hammond, 80, of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy White officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hammond was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Roxie, the daughter of Rumble Wilson and Lula Lindsey.
Survivors include one daughter, Dinah Hammond Slay of Greenville; two sons, Ben Hammond Jr. of Natchez and Andrae Hammond of Cannonsburg; two brothers, Felix Wilson of Phoenix, Ariz., and C.W. Wilson of Fayette; one son-in-law, Lewis Slay; seven grandchildren, Johndrea “Tudi” Slay and Lindsey Slay of Houston, La’Toyia Slay of Madison, Janá Slay of Greenville, Xavier Ferguson and Andrae Hammond III of Natchez and Ben Hammond Jr. of Leland; two great-grandchildren, Ja’lin Slay and Lenton Jordan Slay-Johnson of Houston; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
