FERRIDAY — Services for Audley Mary Ann Smith, 74, who died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at her residence in Clayton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Young’s Funderal Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Josh Morea and the Rev. Curtis Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Whitehall under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until the service begins Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born in Jena on April 1, 1941. She worked for many years at U-Pack in Ferriday and M & M grocery store in Clayton. She owned and operated Smith’s Lounge in Clayton for many years. She was known for her coconut cake and sweet potato pies. She enjoyed working at the voter polls during every election. She loved her family, friends and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Smith; parents, Clark Ezell and Valerie Deville Smith; and brother Tommy Smith.
Survivors include her son William “Bill” Smith of Clayton; two daughters Kathy Finley and husband Jimmy of Monterey, and Cecilia “Ceeda” Roesler and husband David of Mosinee, Wis.; two brothers Alton Ezell of Sacramento, Steve Smith of Wylie, Texas; three sisters, Bettye Forester of Jena, Connie Brevell of Jena and Yvonne Smith of Jena; two grandchildren Mindy Morris and Jimmy Finley Jr.; and great-granddaughter Ryder Grace Morris; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joey Jenkins, Chad Morris, Jimmy Finley Jr., Sawyer Mount, Bruce King and Terry Head.
