Natchez Football
First I thank My Father God for this tremendous opportunity. He has truly been good to us. I’m grateful to all of the wonderful people of Natchez that supported us throughout this process. I want to thank the School Board, Dr. Hill, Principal Fields. Athletic Administrators Mr. Pryor and Mrs. Collins. I’m thankful to ALL the football players. I’m thankful to all the football coaches — Coach Baldwin, Coach Norris, Coach Holmes, Coach Davis and my main man Coach Dan Smith. You all have been like brothers to me. I’m grateful.
There is a special thanks I like to give. I would like to thank a tremendous man. He has been my reason for coming and staying in Natchez. He has been a great example of quality leadership and true commitment. He has been like a father to me. He has been giving me wise counsel and at times whipping me into shape. He will always be TOP DOG to me. Thank you Coach Garner. I appreciate you, and I love you.
I know when new leadership comes, several questions will follow. Time will answer a lot of the questions many may have. Honestly, I don’t have all the answers, but I will share with you briefly four things I do know.
1.) I have a love for every student athlete in Natchez Adams County School District. With this love comes a desire to see them successful in the classroom, in their respective sport, but more importantly in life. I desire that they become great men and women first, then great student-athletes.
2.) I want us to be the best.
I acknowledge that we have a lot of work to do. We acknowledge that many of the challenges ahead are extremely difficult. However, we are not dismayed, afraid or worried. We are excited! And we embrace the challenges ahead!
3.) I have an awesome Vision for this program.
One filled with unity, smart work, hard work, success, consistency, progression, and confidence.
4.) We want and need community support! The support of the community is one of the greatest components in establishing a great program. It’s simple — great people combine to make great programs. There is no coach, no scheme, no techniques, no weight-training program, no conditioning program that can take the place of a strong community that has committed to supporting their student athletes through all forms of adversity and amazing victories.
Our mission as a Coaching Staff is simple:
1.) Turn young men into great men
2.) Get rings
Go Bulldogs!!
