NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Edwin Earl “Griff” Griffin, 78, of Springhill, La., who died Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at his residence after a lengthy and courageous battle with lymphoma, will be noon Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez at the Beasley Memorial Pavillion.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Springhill.

Mr. Griffin was born Aug. 16, 1937, in Bastrop, La., the son of John Ryan and Carrie Elizabeth McKay Griffin.

He had been a resident of Springhill since 1974, was a faithful member of the Springhill United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Mr. Griffin attended Louisiana Tech University and was a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He retired after a 35-year career with International Paper Company Container Division. He was also a member of the Springhill Art League.

Mr. Griffin had a gentle spirit, was unfailingly grateful to those who assisted him in his journey and never lost his sense of humor. He loved hunting and fishing and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Scott Griffin; his parents; and one sister, Charlotte Worsham.

Survivors include his wife, Judy McNeil Griffin; one daughter Kim Robison and husband, Jim, of Germantown, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Caroline Cate Robison; one grandson, Kyle Griffin Robison; three sisters, Dorothy Prince of Pineville, La., Patsy Thomas and husband, Ken, of Baton Rouge and Jean Gay and husband, Wayne, of Mobile, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Springhill United Methodist Church Baxter Hall Fund, P.O. Box 545, Springhill, LA 71075.
