VIDALIA — School has been canceled for all Concordia Parish schools today.

Director of Elementary Education Cindy Smith said the school district was advised by emergency management officials that a state of emergency was declared in Concordia Parish because of flooding.

With roads already closed and more rain on the way, Smith said the district decided to cancel classes out of consideration for students and staff.

Registration for Pre-K and kindergarten scheduled for today will also be rescheduled, Smith said.

School is expected to resume Monday.

Classes at Delta Charter School have also been canceled.
