NATCHEZ — Natchez High School came through with an 11-run first inning to rout Bogue Chitto 18-2 Tuesday.
Starting pitcher Jadarius Ivory was 2-for-3 with a double and triple and three RBIs in addition to three innings pitched.
“We were patient at the plate and we didn’t try to hit a lot of home runs,” Natchez coach Dan Smith said. “We hit in the gaps. We didn’t have any strikeouts either.”
Smith said this was the best game his squad has played all year, and it could be a game for the Bulldogs to build off moving forward.
“We still have a long way to go,” he said. “We had three or four double plays and no errors. We played baseball and I was very proud of them.”
Natchez improved to 4-4 this season and travels to face Columbia High School Saturday.
