NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Eunice “Baby” Moore Northington, 85, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in Ridgeland, due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease, will be 6 p.m. today at Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Natchez.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at Rose Hill Baptist Church.
“Baby” was the daughter of Scott and Willie Lee Moore of Hattiesburg.
Mrs. Northington taught elementary school for more than 40 years before retiring from Natchez-Adams Public School System. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard, crossword puzzles, singing and playing the piano. She was an active and faithful member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess and president emeritus of the senior choir until her health no longer permitted her to do so.
Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Hiawatha Northington; three children, LA Donna, Monica and Hiawatha II and wife, Cathy; three grandchildren, Shawn Matthew, Courtland Alexander and Jordan Elise; and a number of nieces, nephews who cherished her warmth, her humor, her wisdom and the last remaining Moore family matriarch.
