NHS duo shines at state meet

PEARL — Ernesha Chatman and Freddie Singleton are state champions.
The Natchez High School duo won the girls and boys MHSAA Class 5A long jump title in their respective fields Saturday at Pearl High School.
Chatman, a Hinds Community College signee in basketball, won the girls long-jump title after leaping 18-00.25.
Singleton won his side with a leap of 22-07.50.
The Natchez girls track team finished second at the meet with a score of 78, falling short of Oxford High School’s 144 points.
The boys finished fourth with a score tally of 65 points. Oxford won the boys side with a score of 156.
