NATCHEZ — Services for Rosetta “Rose” Ridley Washington, 93, of Natchez, who died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Greater Mount Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Elery officiating.  05:11 RosettaRWashington obitpic

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Natchez chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Washington was born July 10, 1922, in Natchez, the daughter of Handsome and Pernella Wright Ridley.

She was an Eastern Star member and a member of Greater Mount Bethel Missionary Society.

Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Washington; seven siblings, Cairien Rucker, Renette Jones, Princella Jenkins, Mary Ford, James Ridley, Johnny Ridley and Julius Ridley; and one son-in-law, the Rev. Leroy White.

Survivors include seven loving and devoted children, Joe Washington and wife, Willie, Lucille Mason and husband, Jimmy, Earl Washington and wife, Willie Mae, Nathaniel Washington, Marie Hollins and husband, Paul, Larry Washington and wife, Carolyn, and Ann W. White; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Aubrey of San Pablo, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Clara Carter of Clayton; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
