Miss Abby Renee Archer and Mr. Andrew James Franke were united in marriage Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 6:30 p.m., at Noel Memorial United Methodist Church in Shreveport, La. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Dave Fortuna.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist, Mr. Bryan Bierbaum, and pianist, George Armentrout, cousin of the bride. Ceremony readings were performed by William Armentrout, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Jackie Archer, mother of the bride. The bride’s parents hosted a seated dinner and reception at The Remington Suite Hotel. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Robinson Film Center in Shreveport.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Lee Archer of Shreveport. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Wylie of Kilbourne, La., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lee Archer of Vidalia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Franke of Overland Park, Kan. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ellig of Vero Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Joanne and the late Theodore James Franke Sr. of Dunwoody, Ga.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ball gown of ivory tulle with a corseted lace bodice paired with a hand-beaded ivory lace and tulle bolero jacket with a sabrina neckline. She wore a vintage pearl and crystal bridal brooch in her hair. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory, blush and lavender garden roses, peonies and hydrangeas.
Mrs. Kristen Jones Brezina of Bossier City, La., served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Mrs. Kathryn Johnson Dial of Shreveport, Miss Crystin Webb of Bossier City and Miss Ashleigh Attaway of Bossier City. The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore a cocktail length dress made of satin with cap sleeves and a bateau neckline and tulip skirt. Each carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory peonies.
Mr. Bill Franke of Overland Park, Kan., brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Mr. Daniel Heady of Saint George, Kan., Mr. Nathan Jones of Houston and Mr. Joseph Radzevich of Kansas City, Mo. The ushers were Alex Archer of Shreveport, brother of the bride, Dustin Rheuport of Kansas City, Tyler Webb of Prairie Village, Kan., and Todd Witt of Prairie Village.
The bride is a graduate of Byrd High School in Shreveport. She graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana State University Shreveport with a bachelor of science. She then attended Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is licensed to practice law in Virginia and the District of Columbia. She is currently employed as an attorney with Eccleston & Wolf, PC in Washington, D.C. The groom is a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park. He graduated from the University of Kansas and then graduated with a juris doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law. He is currently employed as a legislative assistant for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) in Washington, D.C.
Following a honeymoon in Aruba, Abby and Andy will reside in Arlington, Va.
