FERRIDAY — Services for Dorothy Mae Fields Curry, 82, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, June 5, 2016, in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Troy Thomas officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m.

Visitation will continue Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Curry was born Feb. 16, 1934, in Knox, La., the daughter of Dan Fields Sr. and Florida McCullough.

She was retired from the Concordia Parish School Board.

Mrs. Curry was affiliated with Bethel Church and Mount Beulah Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church, reading the Bible and solving word puzzles.

Mrs. Curry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Curry Sr.; and two stepchildren, Tommie Curry and Herman Connor.

Survivors include five sons, Darryl P. Curry and wife, Antionette, Harold D. Curry, Robert H. Curry, Anthony K. Curry and wife, Janese, and Allen D. Curry and wife, Bobbie; three daughters, Geraldine Turner, Carolyn D. Turner and Rose M. Curry; six stepchildren, Herman Curry Jr. and wife, Audrey, Dannie Curry, Laverne Brooks, Gail Collins, Gloria Gross and husband, Arthur, and Lois Laine and husband, W.L.; and a number of granchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
