FERRIDAY — There will be a private family memorial service for Clayton Gibson, 86, a lifelong resident of Clayton, who died Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez surrounded by his loving family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Gibson was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Clayton, the son of Herman and Carrie Carlotta Clayton Gibson.
He was retired from the Concordia Parish Police Jury. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Lounez Gibson; three sons, Clayton Gibson Jr. and Neil Gibson of Clayton and Mark Gibson and wife, Kris, of Monterey; one daughter, Anna Gibson Whittington and husband, Sam, of Vidalia; three grandchildren, Rebecca Gibson Thoms, Samuel Clayton Whittington and Valarie Gibson Roach and husband, Jeremy; seven great-grandchildren, Drake Smith, Cooper Roach, Riley Roach, Parker Roach, Talon Thoms, Tymber Thoms and Kently Roach Alexander; one brother, Dr. Herman Gibson Jr.; and one nephew, Herman “Doc” Gibson III.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Natchez Children’s Home.
