NATCHEZ — Services for Daisy Bell Barnes, 74, of Natchez, who died Friday, June 24, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Flower Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating. 

Burial will follow at Second Union Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m.

Visitation will continue Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Miss Barnes was born July 18, 1941, in Natchez, the daughter of Julius Barnes Sr. and Sarah Jane Wilson.

She was educated in the Adams County public school system. She was also a member of Zion Flower Baptist Church.

Miss Barnes enjoyed cooking, baking and sitting on her porch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mary Ann and Sarah Ann Cotton; one sister, Sylvia Anderson; and one brother, Julius Barnes Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Darnell Barnes and wife, Gloria, and Jamario Ashley; one brother, Roosevelt Wilson and wife, Reba; one sister, Florida Johnson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three godchildren; one aunt; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and special friends, Janie B. Griffin and Bobby Lee Hollins.
