Bernice Dunbar and Larry Banks of Natchez announce the engagement of upcoming marriage of Sarah Dunbar to Demecio Hawkins Sr.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Theodore “Buddy” Gooden Jr. and Flora Mae Johnson Gooden of Natchez.

She is a graduate of Osborne High School in Marietta, Ga.

She is also the granddaughter of the late Curly Mae Monroe, John A. Bruce, Theodore Gooden Sr., Sarah Myles Gooden, Charity Dunbar of Natchez and Estelle Banks Gooden of Marrero, La.

The groom-to-be is the son of Donnell and Virginia Hargrave of Natchez and Daniel Knowles III of Jackson.

He is a graduate of Natchez High School.

He is the grandson of the late David Hawkins Sr., Alena Hawkins, Daniel Knowles Jr., and Arma Knowles, all of Natchez.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1 in Natchez.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony at the Red Room in Natchez.

Friends and family are invited. Formal invitations will be sent to out-of-town guests only.
