Brian and Donna Melson of Lexington, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Elizabeth Melson to Russell O’Neal Culbertson III, son of Mrs. Bonnie Culbertson and the late Rusty Culbertson of Aiken, S.C.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a master’s degree in elementary education. She is employed by Lexington School District One as a fifth grade teacher.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mickey Ratcliff and the late Mr. Glenn Ratcliff of Ferriday and Mr. Van and Mrs. Bettie Melson of Rogers, Ark., formerly of Ferriday.

The groom-to-be attended the University of South Carolina at Aiken. He is employed by The Carlstar Group of Aiken.

He is the grandson of Virginia Culbertson and the late Russ Culbertson of Newberry, S.C., and the late Mr. John and Mrs. Florence Rapp of Aiken.

The wedding will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Springdale House and Gardens in West Columbia, S.C.

The couple will live in Lexington.
