MEADVILLE — Services for Michael “Mike” Alexander Allen, 26, of Roxie, who died Saturday, July 23, 2016, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Franklin County School auditorium with the Rev. Luther Bolin officiating.    07:29 MichaelAAllen obitpic

Burial will follow at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the school auditorium.

Mr. Allen was born July 25, 1989, in Washington, D.C., the son of Tommie and Cassandra Wilson Allen.

He was a 2008 honor graduate of Franklin High School where he was a gifted athlete in basketball, football and track. In 2013, he received his bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University in communicative disorders and most recently, he received his graduate degree in rehabilitation counseling, also from JSU.

Mike was a member of IOTA Phi Theta, JSU Interfaith Choir, 100 Black Men and was recently employed by Milcreek in Pearl.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie Ruth Allen and her husband and great-grandparents, James and Luberta Wilson.

Survivors include his devoted mother of Roxie; his father of Texas; grandparents, Hollis and Clara Hunt of Roxie; one brother, Maurice Clydell Allen and wife, Jo An Monplaisir, of Maryland; one sister, Kay Washington Addy and husband, Noah, of Washington; two special aunts, Vanessa Hunt Bolin and Tracy Hunt; two special uncles, Ronald Hunt and Donald Hunt; special cousins, Briana Hunt, D.J. Hunt, Crystal Bolin, Bryan Bolin, Luther Bolin IV and Aubrey Bolin, all of Roxie; and a number of other relatives and friends.
