VIDALIA — Funeral services for Jack Hendrix McLemore, Sr., 90, of Vidalia, who died Friday, July 29, 2016, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Vidalia.

Burial to follow at Natchez City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church.

Jack Hendrix McLemore, Sr. was born Saturday, Dec. 5, 1925 near Crisp, Texas . As a child he moved to Cottonport, where he met the love of his life, Bernice Bordelon McLemore, in the fourth grade. He attended Texas A&M and was an avid Aggie fan. He also enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp and served from 1943 to 1945. He was the vice president and manager of Atlas Construction Co., Inc., a subsidiary of T. L. James and Company until retirement. McLemore also served on the board of directors for Delta Bank for 23 years. In his non-work life, Jack was an avid sports fan and attended many of his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Vidalia, having converted to Catholicism in 2013.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jack H. McLemore, Jr.; a great-grandson, Alex Tate; his brother, Jesse Leon McLemore Jr.; and his parents, Willie Irene Hendrix McLemore and Jesse Leon McLemore Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bernice Bordelon McLemore; two daughters, Lisa McLemore Tate and husband Avrie of Baton Rouge and Ann McLemore Robichaux and husband Drew of Denham Springs, La.; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Babin McLemore, wife of the late Jack H. McLemore, Jr.; six grandchildren, Jack H. McLemore III and wife Paige of Baton Rouge, Scott Barbin McLemore and wife Laura of Vidalia, David Allen Tate and wife Rachael of Niceville, Fla., Shannon Messina and husband Kevin of Baton Rouge, Sherry Tate of Baton Rouge and Brian Michael Tate of Denham Springs; 12 great grandchildren, Molly McLemore, Natalie McLemore, Jack Hendrix McLemore IV, Brynn Lalonde, Stephanie Daigle, Chelsea Daigle, Arthur Messina, Benjamin Messina, Lila Tate, Ruby Tate, Charlotte Tate, Jakob Tate; four great-great-grandchildren, Isaiah Lalonde, Kyler Daigle, Quinten McFarland, Treytin Daigle; one sister, Dorothy Jean Falkenheiner of Vidalia; two brothers, Robert McLemore and wife Linda of Arlingon, Texas and James Earl McLemore and wife Pat of Chorpus Chtisti, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Mary McLemore of Texas.

Pallbearers will be Drew Robichaux, Russ Mayeux, Mike Mayeux, Steve Mayeux, and Norman Edwards.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Avrie Tate, Charles Falkenheiner, Odare Hammett, Charles Chauvin, Larry Chauvin, J. C. Roberson, and Bernard Sheppard.
