FERRIDAY — Services for Charles Louis “CL” Brown, 70, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at Jena Rehabilitation Center, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Eddie Schiele officiating.
Burial will follow at Paige Cemetery in Ferriday under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m.
Visitation will continue from 10:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Brown was born Dec. 17, 1945, in Balena, La., the son of Ike Brown and Julia Beard Brown.
He was a graduate of Sevier High School in Ferriday and was retired from Johns-Mansville as a maintenance supervisor.
Mr. Brown was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, barbecuing and most of all fundraising for the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Connell Brown, Willie Brown and Ike Brown; and two sisters, Mattie Brown Schiele and Annie Brown Holly.
Survivors include his wife, Winnie Paige Brown; four sons, Don Paige, Anthony Paige and wife, Tanesha, Allen Paige Jr. and wife, Laveda, and Randrell Jones; four daughters, Katrina Brown Kennedy and husband, J.R., Linda Tolliver, Glenda Jones and husband, Sylvester, and Angela Thomas and husband, Tyrone; two brothers, James Brown and wife, Mary, and Earl Brown and wife, Ethel; two sisters, Bessie Ceasor and Ida Jones; one brother-in-law, Calvin Holly; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jean Brown and Vera Brown; and a number of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
