Centreville set to travel to Amite School Center for opener

The Centreville Academy Tigers will be on the road to begin the 2016 high school football season, but they won’t have to travel too far to take on the Amite School Center Rebels Friday night.
Kickoff in Liberty is set for 7 p.m.
Last year, Centreville took care of Amite School Center 51-14.
Despite rain and flooding last weekend, not only in the town of Centreville but parts of Amite County, Tigers assistant coach Robbie Isonhood said there was not much concern that this game was going to take place.
“Centreville and Liberty did not get as much rain as there was to our south (in southeast Louisiana). Our football field was under water,” Isonhood said.
He added that this has been a rough week of practice for the Tigers because of the afternoon rain and thunderstorms.
“We haven’t been able to get a full practice in. We’ve had to retreat to the gym. But practice has gone well,” Isonhood said.
