Addington leads Centreville over Amite

Centreville Academy senior running back Austen Addington had his way with Amite School Center’s defense in the Tigers’ 27-6 win over the Rebels Friday night.
Addington finished with 18 carries for 204 yards and scored all four of Centreville’s touchdowns. He had scoring runs of 15 in the first quarter, 1 in the second, 11 in the third and a 46-yard scamper in the fourth.
Amite School Center managed to make it a 14-6 game at halftime on Davin Booty’s 10-yard run with 5 seconds left in the second quarter. But that was the only bright spot for a Rebels offense that was limited to 101 total yards by a stingy Tigers defense.
“We changed over our offense in the second half. Austen was able to make some good runs,” Centreville assistant coach Robbie Isonhood said. “I thought our defense did well. We had to make some adjustments to stop what they were doing.”
Stone Reynolds had 73 yards on 17 carries as the Tigers racked up 336 yards on the ground. Daniel Vine and Chris Jones led their defense with 11 tackles apiece.
Centreville Academy (1-0) plays host to Class AAAA Parklane Academy at 7 p.m. next Friday.
