After beating Amite County last week, it doesn’t get any easier for Wilkinson County as the Wildcats will travel to Zachary, La., Friday to take on the defending LHSAA Class 5A state champion Broncos.

“It’s going to be a tough task,” Wilkinson County coach Kenneth Brown said. “We played pretty well against them last year. They lost a lot of kids from last year. Our kids are up to the challenge.”

Brown said the keys to success for his team are winning the turnover battle and playing sound, disciplined football.

“Our quarterback (JaQuorias Stewart) has to play well this week,” he said. “The receivers catching also have to catch the ball well.”

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
