NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Nell Montgomery James Woolf, 93, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, in New Orleans, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Natchez City Cemetery-Browns section, with Bryant Reed of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will follow the services at the Carriage House Restaurant in the Queen’s Room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mr. Woolf was born March 30, 1923, in Williamson, W.Va., the daughter of Edgar and Anna Montgomery.
The family moved to Miami and she graduated from Miami High School. She attended the University of Alabama and Florida State College for Women where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
Mrs. Woolf was a resident of Natchez for more than 60 years.
She was a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church, Pilgrimage Garden Club, Garden Club of America, Natchez City Cemetery Board of Directors and was a past president of the Natchez Junior Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by husbands, John Caller James II and Allen Walter Woolf and one son, John Caller James III.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Anna Branham James; two granddaughters, Allison James Hescock and husband, Dr. Jay Hescock, and Callie James Daters and husband, Dr. Andrew Daters; and four great-grandchildren, Anna and Sarah Hescock and James and Gracie Daters.
