FERRIDAY — Services for Patsy Barron Stutson, 76, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her loving family, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber and R.V. Mize officiating.
Burial will follow at the Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stutson was born July 14, 1940, in Foules, La., the daughter of William Ray and Pinky Rush Barron.
She was an artist at heart and was very good at it. Her work is can be seen hanging in Comer Funeral Home. She loved flowers and being outdoors and could paint these scenes beautifully. In years past, casket companies would pay her to paint floral designs on the casket panels. She was a licensed florist and worked for Comer Funeral Home in the flower shop for more than 38 years.
Mrs. Barron had other positions, but mainly flowers. She loved to garden and canning her goodies to give away. She would travel to Arkansas every year and pick tomatoes just to come back to Ferriday and give them all away. She was loving and kind and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a child Mike Stutson.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years Charles Stutson, children Sharon and Jan, one grandson Steve Hinton, two granddaughters Nicole and Ashley, one sister Eloiese King and one brother William “Bill” Barron and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joe DeArmond, David King, Bob Brown, Phillip Arthur, Ted Kincannon and Henry Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Cook, Harry Porter, Wayne Thompson and Reece Barron.
