NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Isaac White, 106, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Byram, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. White was born May 8, 1910, in Natchez, the daughter of Monroe and Alice Sewell Isaac.
She attended public school in Robinson Bottom and Natchez College. She was baptized in 1932 by the Rev. Roosevelt Johnson at Second Union Baptist Church.
Mrs. White cherished her family and friends. She was known for style, fashion and loved to cook and entertain. She cared for a number of family members. She raised Marguerite Isaac Connor as her daughter. She was godmother to Jusine “Sue” S. Burn and Sylvester Isaac Jr.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Pearl and Charles E. White Sr.; her parents; eight brothers, Sam, Lee, Willie, Almaron, Otis, Monroe, Henderson and Sylvester Isaac; and seven nieces and nephews, Almaron Isaac, Monroe Isaac Jr., Jessie Marrs, Eugene Isaac, Marguerite Isaac Jr. and Lee Isaac Jr.
Survivors include four stepsons, Charles White Jr., Robert White and wife, Geraldine, of Robbins, Ill., Jonathan Berry and wife, Martha, and David Berry and wife, Beverly, of Carrollton, Ga.; three stepdaughters, Clara Blades and Majorie Solomon of Robbins, Ill., and Deborah Jean Berry of Natchez; four nieces, Mary Williams of Natchez, Annie Griffin Edwards and husband, Robert, of Bryam, Shelia Diane Fitzgerald and Doris Fitzgerald of Las Vegas; one nephew, Lee Edward Fitzgerald and wife, Alice, of Las Vegas; one niece-in-law, Ammie Isaac of New Orleans; and a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
