Delta Charter falls to Oak Grove on road

The Oak Grove Tigers ran the ball at will on Delta Charter School’s defense Friday night as they cruised to a 54-13 win over the Storm in an LHSAA District 2-1A game.
Seven of Oak Grove’s eight touchdowns were on the ground. The Tigers’ rushing game amassed 534 yards and they racked up 22 first downs. The only thing that slowed them down was penalties as they were flagged 12 times for 82 yards.
Delta Charter head coach Zach Rogel said his offense moved the ball well at times, but had too many negative plays, especially in the running game.
“We have some good skill guys and we’re confident with Lee (Lancaster) at quarterback. We still have to incorporate the run,” Rogel said.
The Storm had minus-nine rushing yards and 207 total yards of offense. Lancaster went 20-for-34 passing for 224 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Delta Charter (1-3, 0-1) plays host to St. Frederick next Friday at 7 p.m.
