NATCHEZ — Services for James G. “Buddy” Cochran, 77, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Glenburney Nursing Facility, will be 3:30 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church in Cranfield with the Rev. Bryan Kyzar officiating.    0924-jamesgcochran-obitpic
Burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenleaf Methodist Cemetery in Coldwater under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Cochran was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Magnolia, Ark., the son of Prentice “Hill” Cochran Sr. and Leola Cochran.
He was employed by W.T. Drilling Company and retired Nov. 23, 2011.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a Mason, and served in the U.S. Navy four years. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding horses, coon hunting and being a joker.
Mr. Cochran loved his wife more than life itself. He also loved all of his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Peggie Cochran; two daughters, Tammy Jordan and husband, James Jr., of Natchez and Susie Hunter and husband, Bill, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; three grandchildren, Alexas Troth and husband, LT, of Pearl, Lacie Nolin and husband, Ron, of Tuscaloosa and Sieara Neal of Natchez; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Jadyn, Bella, Allie, Hunter and Christopher; two sisters, Sue Taylor and husband, Terry, and Glenda Morris and husband, William, of Magnolia, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Ruthie Cochran of Meadville; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be L.T. Troth, Bill Hunter, Will Sisk, Wayne Brown, Eric Sisk, Ron Nolin, Billy Pickle, Mike Ragsdale, Don Ross and Don Neal.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Johnson, Harold Sisk, J.B. Warren, Danny Lee and Tyron Wilson.
