Natchez falls on road to Provine, 23-12

JACKSON — The Natchez High School Bulldogs played well for three of the four quarters Friday night against the Provine High School Rams in the MHSAA Region 3-5A opener for both teams.
At least they did on defense. The offense, on the other hand, was shut out in the first half and that was a big factor in Natchez High’s 23-12 loss to Provine.
“We made too many mistakes tonight and we couldn’t rebound from it,” Bulldogs head coach Roy Rigsby said. “We dropped too many passes and had too many turnovers.”
Natchez High was only down 6-0 at halftime as the defense did its best to keep the Bulldogs in the game. But Provine (4-2, 1-0) scored two touchdowns in the third
