Sicily Island outlasted by Tensas, 42-18

Tensas High School and Sicily Island High School had a back-and-forth game going for three quarters Friday in the LHSAA District 2-1A opener for both teams.
And then came the fourth quarter. Tensas High scored 22 points while holding Sicily Island out of the end zone as the Panthers pulled away for a 42-18 victory.
The game was tied at 6-6 after one quarter of play before Tensas took a 14-12 lead into halftime. Both teams scored a touchdown in the third quarter, leaving the Panthers still up by two points at 20-18 heading into the fourth quarter.
Sicily Island (0-3, 0-1) next plays at 7 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove.
