HAWKINSVILLE, Ga. — Graveside services for Barbara Lockhart Price, 73, of Hawkinsville, Ga., who died suddenly Monday, Sept. 25, 2016, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, will be Sunday at Winton Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville, Ala., with the Rev. T.B. Stringfellow officiating.
Barbara’s oldest grandchild, Tripp McRight, will speak on behalf of the family members.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville.
Mrs. Price was born Nov. 22, 1942, in Haleyville, the daughter of John and Fannie Lockhart.
She was a banker by profession and employed by Sun Mark Bank in Hawkinsville at the time of her death. She was also employed by United Mississippi Bank in Natchez from 1977 to 1992.
Mrs. Price was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent example of love, commitment and devotion. Her husband suffered a severe stroke in 1986 and Barbara spent the next 30 years of her life caring for him. She adored her children and grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. She was admired and respected by her co-workers. Her motto was “life is what you make it.” Her presence filled the room. She brought joy and laughter to those around her. She had a generous heart and a servant’s spirit.
Mrs. Price was preceded in death by four siblings, Billy Lockhart, Geraldine Lockhart Thomas, Jimmy Lockhart and Doris Lockhart Taylor.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Price; two daughters, Cindy McRight and husband, Jesse, of Starkville and Hope Trosclair and husband, Finley, of Sharpsburg, Ga.; one son David Price of Warner-Robbins, Ga.; four grandsons, Tripp McRight of Oxford, Will Trosclair of Atlanta, Drew Trosclair of Lexington, Ky., and Gage Price of Warner-Robbins; one granddaughter, Rachel Trosclair of Sharpsburg, Ga.; one sister, Libby Lockhart of Birmingham, Ala.; and one brother, Buddy Lockhart of Birmingham.
