Delta Charter coach Zach Rogel said his team has been searching for a landmark win all season long.

The first-year coach’s team almost got one last week.

The Storm fell in the final moments to Tensas High School, 32-29.

Now, Rogel and Delta Charter (1-5, 0-3) will attempt to rebound Friday when they host Delhi Charter. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

“It’s tough (overcoming last week’s loss), but we’re putting ourselves in a position to make a play for a win,” Rogel said. “To be that close and not capitalize, it’s tough. But we’re progressing as a football team.”

Rogel said a key Friday night will be his team’s ability to limit the Gators’ (4-2, 3-0) run-based offense, an area the Storm’s defense has come up short all season long.

“It’s a good test for us,” Rogel said. “We’ve struggled to stop the run. I want to see our guys take on and shed blockers, and make the plays. We want to play for four quarters, and no matter the circumstances, keep fighting to the end.”
