Jefferson County quarterback Rah’Kendrick Reynolds accounted for five total touchdowns and 247 total yards of offense as the Tigers defeated the Wesson Cobra 48-34 Friday night in an MHSAA Region 7-3A game.

Jefferson County led at one point 20-7 before Wesson stormed back to take a 27-20 lead early in the third quarter. The Tigers then outscored the Cobras 28-7 the rest of the game.

Reynolds went 7-for-12 passing for 110 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 12 carries for 137 yards and three touchdowns. Both of his touchdown passes went to Jaqurious Blake, who had four catches for 84 yards on offense and returned an interception 75 yards for a touchdown.

Jalen Herrington also had a big game for the Tigers with 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.

Jefferson County (3-5, 2-1) plays host to Hazlehurst at 7 p.m. Friday.
