STARKVILLE — Memorial services for Sam Hilliar Reynolds, 85, of Starkville, who died Sat. Oct. 15, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Starkville with the Rev. Martin Lifer officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus.
Mr. Reynolds was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Starkville, the son of Hilliar “Cotton” Archibald and Martha Gieger Reynolds.
He was a teacher, coach and administrator for 30 years with Natchez public schools where he was admired by many of his former students for his impact on their lives.
Mr. Reynolds was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Starkville. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking and building furniture.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife, Anita Vaught Reynolds; one daughter, Alyce Reynolds Finley of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two sons, Keith A. Reynolds and wife, Christelle Brieussel and Hilliar A. Reynolds and wife, Eleisha LA Gray; all of Montrose, Colo.; two brothers, Marvin G. Reynolds and David H. Reynolds; two sisters, Mary Lou Cannon and Marty Blevins; six grandchildren, Sarah Finley, Susannah Finley, Jed Finley, Lucas Kuklish, Emily Reynolds and Hayden Reynolds; one great-grandchild, Gunner Summers; and a special famiy friend, Flo Jones.
