There will be no playoff ramifications on the line Friday night for Wilkinson County High School when it travels to face Wesson High School in its regular-season finale.
The Wildcats (6-4, 3-1) have already secured the No. 2 spot from Region 7-3A, but WCHS coach Ken Brown said there will be not letup from his squad.
“We’re still going to try to win the game,” Brown said. “We’re still playing to win.”
Wesson (4-6, 0-4) is still in search for its first region win of the year.
Brown said the Cobras are led by senior wide receiver Will Hulon.
“They like to spread you out, and they have some good athletes,” Brown said.
Brown said the key for his squad is to escape injury free while also working out a few kinks offensively before entering the start of the playoffs next week.
“We want to fine tune some things,” Brown said. “Hopefully defensively we can keep them out of the end zone and put ourselves in a position to pull some of our starters.”
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
