NATCHEZ — Services for Michael A. McCoy, 56, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, will be noon Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church in Kingston with the Rev. Kenneth E. Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. McCoy was born March 29, 1960, in Natchez, the son of Lee Joy McCoy and Rosie Lee Davis.
He was a graduate of Calumet High School in Chicago and was employed by Bayou Steel Incorporated in LaPlace, La., until he was injured.
Mr. McCoy was a former member of St. Thomas Baptist Church in New Orleans and was presently a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. He enjoyed raising fish, fishing, hunting, shopping and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mariah Washington, Willie Jackson and Louise Jackson and one brother, Carmon McCoy.
Survivors include two daughters, Janaé M. McCoy and Jonique M. McCoy, both of New Orleans; his mother; his father and wife, Edna; his former wife, Dwan Hunter; his only granddaughter, Milan J. Lewis; two brothers, Marvin McCoy and wife, Cheryl, and Leroy McCoy and wife, Lydia; three sisters, Elaine Hill, Jacqueline S. Smith and Tabitha Bridget; one uncle, John Jackson and wife, Irma; three aunts, Hattie Matthew and husband, Ollie, Pauline Adams and Marie Stewart; and other relatives and friends.
