Arrangements are under the direction of Calvary Hill Funeral Home in Dallas.
Mr. Hagan was born April 3, 1919, in Dallas, the son of Michael Edward and Margaret Hagan.
He attended Holy Trinity Elementary School and North Dallas High School, graduating in 1935. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1939 with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering. While at A&M, Ed was recognized as an outstanding student, company commander and was a member of Tau Beta Pi.
He married Virginia Friend of Milwaukee, Wis., Jan. 4, 1945, in Silver Springs, Md.
Ed was employed by Magnolia Petroleum before entering the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant, where he studied radar at Harvard, MIT and the Royal Air Force in Canada. His World War II experience took him to Florida, Alaska and the Aleutian Islands and was honorably discharged as a captain, remaining in the Army Reserves until 1958.
After his discharge, he returned to Magnolia and shortly thereafter moved to Chevron. His career with Chevron took him to Natchez, Ruston, La., Houston, Perth West Australia, Maracaibo, Venezuela and to Midland, Texas, where he retired after 33 years. He was a registered professional engineer.
Retirement took Ed back to Dallas, where he worked as a consultant in the oil and gas field for a number of years. Ed and Ginny spent a number of wonderful years traveling throughout the world until they moved to The Waterview on Lake Granbury.
Survivors include three children, Margaret (Peggy) Wiseman and husband, Jerry, and Catherine Ramage, all of Hico, Texas, and Michael Edward and wife, Kate, of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jane Black and husband, Brad, Anna Demiglio and husband, Chris, Christina O’Jibway and husband, Jeff, Jalle and Abbey Hagan; and three great-grandchildren, Garret Turner, Brady Black and Lewis O’Jibway.
