FERRIDAY — Services for Junior Lee Johnson, 79, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5 p.m. today with a visitation of life wake service at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 20, 1936, in Lake St. John, La., the son of the Rev. Charlie Johnson and Addie Cephus.
He was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad as a forman and trackman. He was Baptist.
Mr. Johnson enjoyed watching westerns, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Louis Joe Cephus; and stepfather who raised him, George Cephus Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Littie Mae Johnson; six daughters, Gloria Pipes, Lorraine Pittman, Carolyn Bridgewater and husband, James, Barbara Pryor and husband, Shelton, Debra McGee and husband, Willie, and Linda Guillory and husband, Herman; three brothers, George Cephus, Archie Johnson and Johnny Johnson; four sisters, Oneder Roy, Addie Wilson and husband, Niles, Julia Gage and Mary Davis and husband, Wendell; and grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
